The parched riverbeds of the Kalahari are replenished from November to March during summer’s rainy season, as short-lived, yet frequent, thunderstorms urge refreshing bursts of rain showers. Newborn vegetation and saturated soils invite aggregations of herbivores to the fossil riverbeds, resulting in unusually high predator concentrations; with the Kalahari’s iconic black-maned lions and the endangered cheetah featuring largely in guest experiences.
