Mornings begin before sunrise when heading on a guided game drive. The reserve is home to the Big Five (the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) as well as giraffe, zebra, impala, waterbuck, and baboon, amongst others. Predators such as hyena and cheetah are also occasionally encountered.
Bird enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy, particularly around Ngonyam Dam, where kingfishers, fish eagles, hornbills, rollers, and a variety of waterbirds are regularly spotted.
