Overview
Camp Linyanti is located deep in the north-western corner of the Chobe National Park, on the river-border between Botswana and Namibia. The area is one of the most remote and undiscovered wilderness areas, and offers unsurpassed views of this unique destination. Camp Linyanti is a rustic, permanent tented camp with simple, African-inspired decor and an unapologetic emphasis on the surrounding views.
There are 5 individual canvas tents, elevated slightly from the ground with stairs leading onto private wooden decks, fully-kitted out with table and chairs. Each tent is is circular and has a thatched roof, ensuring guests are rewarded with that iconic safari feel. Each tent is equipped to accommodate 2 people, but a third bed can be added if required. Bathrooms are ensuite and have a quintessential outdoor shower with stellar views.
Camp Linyanti is an eco-friendly camp, where the focus is on preservation of the environment. This hideaway is family-friendly, but is also the perfect getaway for honeymooners who can enjoy a stay in the honeymoon tent. Camp Linyanti is an idyllic spot to escape the crowds that descend upon the Chobe during peak season. Guests will find comfort in the communal relaxation spots, which includes a bar, lounge and dining area, and abundant viewing decks.
Activities centre around the exploration of riverine forests and wild terrain of the surrounding Linyanti rivers and lagoons, floodplains and marshlands. Open-topped 4x4 vehicles are used to conduct game drives, which take place in the morning and evening when predators are at their most active. When the water levels are high enough guests can enjoy boat trips, but this is a rarity given that the Linyanti is erratic with its water flow.
A recent TripAdvisor guest commented, “Great camp. The staff was very accommodating. I'm a vegetarian and they went out of their way (without being asked) to ensure that I had plenty of food options. Loved waking up to the sound of wild animals right outside my tent.”
