Mboma Island Expeditions

Mboma Island Expeditions is a brand new eco-safari destination located in Botswana’s renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Overlooking the Delta’s floodplains, this stylish, low-impact, mobile camp offers a true back to wilderness adventure. Perfectly situated between Moremi’s game-rich savanna and the Delta’s floodplains, Mboma offers the best of both safari worlds, games drives on land and authentic Mokoro excursions on the water.

Magical Mboma has 5 light Meru-style canvas tents equipped with twin beds and en suite, open-air bathrooms. Everything about this camp is eco-friendly, from the sole use of solar-power, to bucket showers, and chemical toilets. Tents are fully furnished using the finest linen and kitted out in the creature comforts from home. Lantern lined pathways lead the way from the rooms to the main camp.

Mboma is the epitome of remote, wild and untouched safari experience, yet offers all the creature comforts from home. Decor is in perfect harmony with the surrounds - neutral tones are interrupted by bold pops of colour that reflect the colourful spirit of Botswana. This area features all the quintessential elements of a simplistic safari, a roaring boma fire, an open-air dining tent and of course a drinks trolly, stocked with the iconic safari favourites.

Moremi is a well-known wildlife hotspot and a protected part of the famed Okavango Delta. This diverse landscape offers the ideal habitat for a plethora of species, from lions to red lechwe, wallowing hippos and large herds of elephants, all can be found in abundance here. Elephants regularly walk through camp, putting on quite a spectacle for guests. Mboma’s main activities include boat excursions (when the water levels are high), game drives into the Moremi, traditional mokoro trips, and epic sundowner set-ups on pam-fringed flood plains.
