Cocoon yourself in Okavango Delta magic for four nights in our 4-night Classic Delta package and explore the intricate waterways and wildlife of the Moremi Game Reserve at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You'll spend two nights at Mboma Island Expeditions (luxury mobile camping) on an island in the Delta, and two nights at the sanctuary-style Mankwe Tented Retreat on the doorstep of the Moremi.

If you're a lover of water safaris and exploring remote islands in wildlife-rich regions, then the Classic Delta package is for you. While in the Okavango Delta you’ll explore the waterways on a traditional Mokoro, boating and game drives into the Moremi. Nights are spent in glamourous Meru-style tents, complete with en-suite bathrooms, spacious interiors and luxury furnishings.

At Mankwe, soak up the sanctuary-style atmosphere and enjoy game drives in their private concession. The lodge boasts two swimming pools, numerous relaxation nooks and expansive wooden suites connected with private balconies.

Experience the both water and land based safaris, while staying in an authentic camp combined with a luxury lodge. Spot birds of prey, the Big 5, aquatic beasts and more.

Day 1: Maun to Mankwe Tented Retreat
  • Road transfer to Mankwe Tented Retreat
  • Sunset game drive

Upon arrival at Maun Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you on a two-hour journey to the lodge. Settle in and enjoy the view with some refreshments before departing for an evening game drive in Mankwe's private concession.

Enjoy sundowners at a scenic spot on Mankwe’s concession and a short night drive back to camp where a campfire will be waiting to welcome you.

Dinner will be served in the dining area, followed by your first night in the Botswana wilderness.

Day 2: Mankwe Tented Retreat

  • Afternoon game drive

An early wake-up call will be met with coffee and rusks in the main area of lodge before you depart on a morning game drive through the pristine Mankwe Tented Retreat concession. If you're lucky, you might encounter elite predators on your morning drive. There's a large waterhole in the concession, which is a major drawcard for wildlife.

After your morning activity, you’ll return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by downtime at the lodge. Spend some time overlooking the waterhole in front of camp, frequented by abundant bird species and wildlife. There is a lounge and bar area, pool bar, and two swimming pools where you can spend your leisure time.

Lunch will be served later in the day before you depart on an afternoon game drive, including sundowners and a night drive back to camp. Dinner is served, followed by your last night at Mankwe Tented Retreat.

Day 3: Mankwe Tented Retreat to Mboma Island Expeditions
  • Air charter transfer to Mboma Island Expeditions
  • Sunset boat cruise in the Okavango Delta

Rise to an early morning wake-up call followed by coffee and breakfast at Mankwe Tented Retreat before you embark on an exciting two-hour hour road transfer to the Khwai Airstrip for a scenic flight to Mboma Island Expeditions.

The flight is in a small aircraft, and offers unsurpassed aerial views of the Delta's water system and the Moremi— a great vantage point for spotting elephants.

You will arrive at Xakanaxa airstrip where your guide from Mboma Island Expeditions will pick you up in a game viewer for a one-hour land transfer through the wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve. The Moremi is famous for its lion and leopard population - use this opportunity to spot big cats.

You'll arrive at a boat station, where you'll jump aboard a motorboat to enjoy a one-hour boat cruise through the Delta waterways to the island.

Arrive to a welcome drink and high tea. You'll receive a briefing by the camp host before being shown to your classic Meru-style canvas safari tent under the trees. After some refreshments it’s time for your sunset boat cruise.

Your guide will pack a cooler box with your choice of drinks for the boat journey. Enjoy the Delta’s beauty and birdlife for a couple of hours before returning to camp for dinner and your first night at Mboma Island Expeditions.

Day 4 : Mboma Island Expeditions
  • Morning boat cruise, mokoro and/or game drive
  • Sunset boat cruise in the Okavango Delta

Rise to an early wake-up call followed by coffee and breakfast around the campfire. After breakfast, you'll depart for a boat cruise back to the boat station and enjoy a mokoro activity or game drive in the Moremi Game Reserve.

You'll be out until late morning, so remember to pack the essentials. Upon returning to camp, you are welcome to have a warm bucket shower and refresh before lunch is served in the dining tent.

Sit down and enjoy a hearty, homecooked meal, followed by an afternoon siesta, or a spot of birdwatching on the island.

High tea is served later in the afternoon, while a sunset cruise complete with sundowners awaits to end the day. After your sunset cruise, return to camp and relax on safari chairs around the campfire before tucking into a three-course dinner.

Day 5 : Mboma Island Expeditions to Maun/Kasane
  • Transfer from Mboma Island Expeditions to Xakanaxa Airstrip
  • Light air transfer to Maun/Kasane

This is your last early morning wake up, followed by breakfast and your transfer to Xakanaxa Airstrip. Enjoy your last boat cruise as you head back to Mboma Boat Station.

From the boat station you will experience a final one-hour drive through the Moremi to reach Xakanaxa Airstrip and connect on your air charter flight back to Maun/Kasane for your onward journey.
