Our 5-Night Discovering Botswana package introduces you to the vibrant local cultures and way of life just outside Maun during your one-night stay at Boteti Tented Camp. You'll then spend two nights in the magical water wonderland of the Okavango Delta, finishing with two nights in the famed predator-rich Chobe National Park.
The locally-owned Boteti Tented Camp is situated on the banks of the Boteti River, and offers accommodation in 5 Meru-style canvas tents built on wooden platforms. Boteti showcases the local Maun of way of life, and embodies the true spirit of community. Upon arrival, guests are treated to an introductory mokoro (Just so you know, this complementary activity only happens when the river is flowing), and can enjoy a full-day adventure of their choice.
Mboma Island Expeditions is a magical mobile camp located in the Okavango Delta, where you'll spend two nights exploring the waterways and heading into the Moremi Game Reserve. It's remote and offers incredibly stylish Meru-style tents for your accommodation. At Mboma, in-camp elephant sightings are common.
Camp Savuti, Chobe National Park's hidden gem, is located in the remote Savuti region where the predators roam. Overlooking the erratic Savuti channel, it's here where you'll spend your days tracking prolific elephants herds, cats and other wildlife.
This Botswana package comes highly recommended for those wanting to combine two iconic regions with a more local and cultural experience.

With regards to the introductory mokoro at Boteti: under normal circumstances we can run the mokoro ride on the Boteti river right through the year. Under abnormal circumstances when the water is low. we will be suspending the mokoro ride from May – August.

Upon your arrival at Maun Airport, a guide from Boteti Tented Camp will be there to welcome you. A brief 30 to 40-minute drive through Maun town will bring you to Boteti Tented Camp, situated amidst the local farming community along the banks of the seasonal Boteti River.
Upon arrival, you'll be treated to welcome drinks, followed by a comprehensive briefing by the camp's host. Afterward, you'll be escorted to your Meru-style tent nestled under the trees.
Following a comfortable settling-in period, savour a quick lunch before embarking on a two hour introductory mokoro activity on the Boteti River. While on the mokoro, you may have the chance to observe locals engaging in fishing and farming, all while enjoying superb birding opportunities. This complementary mokoro activity only happens when the river is flowing.
The late afternoon is yours to spend at leisure—either unwind around the lodge or enjoy some birdwatching at the riverfront viewing platform. Dinner will be served in the boma or on the deck, before settling in for the night.

Wake up early to enjoy coffee and breakfast in the main area. After breakfast, you will depart Boteti Tented Camp and return to Maun Airport for your air charter transfers to Mboma Island Expeditions.
Upon your arrival at Xakanaxa airstrip, your guide from Mboma Island Expeditions will collect you in a game viewer, and transfer you on a one-hour game drive through the Moremi Game Reserve.
From here, you'll enjoy an exhilarating boat cruise through the Delta waterways to reach Mboma Island Expeditions. Look out for hippos and crocodiles during your one-hour journey.
Upon arrival, the team will welcome you with drinks, and a briefing by the camp's host. Following this, you'll be escorted to your classic canvas safari tent. After high tea is served, you'll embark on a memorable sunset boat cruise on the open waters of the Okavango Delta.
Enjoy the Delta’s beauty and birdlife for a couple of hours before returning to camp for dinner and your first night at Mboma Island Expeditions.

Start your day with an early wake-up call, followed by a warm cup of coffee and breakfast around the campfire. After this hearty meal, embark on a scenic boat cruise until you reach Mboma Boat Station, where your mokoro adventure or game drive will start.
Don't forget your camera and sunblock, as the activity extends into late morning. Upon your return to camp, refresh with a warm bucket shower before enjoying a well-prepared lunch in the dining tent.
Indulge in an afternoon siesta or engage in birdwatching on the island. High tea awaits later in the afternoon, setting the stage for a sunset boat cruise featuring sundowners to conclude the day.
Following the sunset cruise, return to camp to bask in the warmth of the campfire and savour a delightful three-course dinner, marking your final night on Mboma Island Expeditions.

Wake up early to enjoy tea/coffee and breakfast around the campfire. Following this, jump aboard and enjoy a one-hour boat cruise transfer from Mboma Island Expeditions to Xakanaxa airstrip, connecting seamlessly with your light air transfer to Savuti. As you cruise through the open waters, take the opportunity to spot aquatic beasts for one last time.
Upon reaching Savuti Airstrip within Chobe National Park, you'll meet with your guide from Camp Savuti. Experience a delightful 30-minute transfer through the park, arriving at Camp Savuti nestled along the banks of the Savuti channel. You might be lucky and spot wildlife along the way!
Upon arrival, you'll receive a warm welcome with traditional singing and dancing before a comprehensive briefing from your host. From here, lunch will be served on the deck and then it's time to settle into your tented wooden chalet overlooking the Savuti.
As the afternoon unfolds, head off on a sunset game drive, featuring a sundowner stop at a designated stretch point, allowing you to immerse yourself in the renowned beauty of Savuti.
Return to camp, refresh, and then indulge in a tasty dinner to round off the day's adventures. Spend the evening stargazing while relaxing around the campfire.

Enjoy a lengthy game drive around the Savuti Marsh, pausing for coffee and breakfast at a scenic spot within the park. Return to camp for a satisfying lunch, followed by an afternoon at leisure where you can enjoy views of the Savuti from your private deck.
Look out for birdlife, elephants and other local species passing through this wildlife corridor. You can also spend time around the swimming pool or in the main lounge area, soaking up the beauty of the Savuti.
High tea is served at the camp later in the afternoon, setting the stage for an afternoon game drive complete with sundowners in the bush. As the sun sets, return to camp to bask in the warmth of the open-air campfire and relish a special dinner on the deck beneath the stars.
